“Hi!” I say to you as you walk through my yellow front door. “So good to see you! Come in. Have a seat. We have so much catching up to do.
I want to hold your eye contact to prevent you from looking around, but I can’t. It’s inevitable. I can practically see the sighs building up in your chest.
“Your house is always so clean. I don’t know how you do it.”
I will make a joke about how you shouldn’t open any cupboards or check under the lounge cushions. But you’ll see it as a deflection. You believe my house is clean, even while I see dust is right under your nose. And why?
We’re programmed for comparison and our tendency to want what we don’t have. Sometimes it’s greener grass.
Sometimes it’s being able to walk through the kitchen in our socks and not get them dirty. When you come into my home, you don’t see my mess.
You see your mess missing from my bench tops and your clutter missing from my floors. My mess is still there, but it looks different. To you, my home looks lived in and comfortable (and who’s to say it’s not?).
I’m writing this post not so that you’ll accept that my house is cleaner, but to remind you that it’s time to let those comparisons go. Don’t focus on what your house isn’t. Focus on what it is—a home teeming with love, and life and fingerprints. Tell yourself that permanently clean houses are for people with too much time on their hands and a Clara Care Weekly Cleaning Service.
And, if that doesn’t work, I invite you to stop by my house without giving me a five minutes heads up. You’ll feel better instantly.-

We receive so many calls for assistance of the winter months to clean mould from inside homes.
In order to reproduce, mould produces tiny particles called spores. Spores are carried in the air and may cause health problems if inhaled by people who are sensitive or allergic to them. These include a running or blocked nose, irritation of the eyes and skin and sometimes wheezing. Occasionally, people may have more severe reactions. People may even develop a mould infection, usually in the lungs.
For people with asthma, inhaling mould spores may cause an asthma attack.
If you or your family members suffer health problems after coming into contact with mould, contact your doctor.
Prevention is better than a Cure
Mould loves damp conditions with poor ventilation.
With most people at school or work during the week, homes dont often get a chance to fully ventilate and dry out until weekends.
Bathrooms are notorious for introducing moisture into bedrooms. Areas with low air movement such as behind beds in wardrobes and corners of rooms are perfect conditions for mould to grow. Wet towels or clothes left in a basket or on the floor, damp shoes returned to wardrobes all increase opportunities for mould to thrive.
Clothes dryers should be vented externally or used in the garage to prevent the water evaporating from clothes being pumped into your home. Never hang your wet clothes inside to dry unless it is the bathroom with the door shut and an external window open.
Fish tanks and indoor plants - evaporate water into rooms
Leaking pipes, taps and shower recesses - shower recesses should be re siliconed every 6 months to prevent leakage.
Blocked gutters and downpipes overflow back into roof cavities causing major issues in ceilings and are a major cause of mouldy ceilings.
Humans breath 1.4 litres of water into the air every day !
Remember stay safe this winter keep your home moisture free and well ventilated to reduce the risk of mould having a chance to take over and making you and your family sick .

JOB WELL DONE !
Even the most boring part of the kitchen can have some pizzaz with a pretty wallpaper.
You will want to leave the doors open next time you have guests over !
Make the most of the mild weather before it really starts to heat up with a quick tidy up of the front yard. Say goodbye to wasps’ nests and cobwebs and pull up those weeds that are threatening to invade.
Create a colourful first impression with a fresh coat of paint on the front door and a bright mat.
Why not finish off your smart new look with a planter of spring bulbs on either side of your front door, to make your home bright and welcoming for your visitors.
Choose two large planters; half-fill with potting compost then place your spring bulbs in a close ring in the centre before continuing to fill the planters. This way, once the bulbs have died back, you can add a circle of other flowering plants later in the year, to keep the interest going a bit longer, then next year, your bulbs will be ready to flower again.
By incorporating water-absorbing gel or crystals when planting, you could save yourself a heap of time as the warm weather returns, as the crystals work by holding water next to the roots of your plants, helping them withstand the heat and remain fresh.
